VOM VERHALTEN ZUEINANDER

Gallery Kaufmann • Hamburg / Germany • 2025

Galerie Hyle presents ‘Vom Verhalten Zueinander’, an exhibition showcasing two compelling artistic positions that initiate a dialogue on perception, materiality, and the interplay of space and form. Artists Katherina Heil and Liv Pedersen explore how observation and inquiry reshape our understanding of the world, creating visual experiences that invite viewers to adopt new perspectives.

Katherina Heil’s practice explores the relationship between drawing, sculpture, and installation as interconnected ways of thinking about space, perception, and humanity’s place within a larger cosmic context. Inspired by astronomy, space exploration, and scientific systems of observation, she creates large-scale drawings composed of intricate networks of lines, symbols, and text fragments that oscillate between scientific notation and speculative imagination.

Rather than functioning as preparatory studies, Heil’s drawings serve as processes of inquiry that extend into three-dimensional space. Through sculptures and installations, graphic forms are transformed into physical structures, investigating questions of movement, gravity, orientation, and the translation of marks into spatial experience.

Her works invite viewers to reflect on relationships between objects, forces, and systems, while navigating the boundaries between scientific knowledge, perception, and the unknown.
