COLD WELDING

2025
gypsum cast, brass
ca. 340 x 10 x 10 cm

Cold Welding brings together materials that belong equally to the human body and the industrial world, allowing the sculpture to hover between bone, tool, prosthesis, and geological specimen. Brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, contains elements that are also essential to the human body, subtly dissolving the boundary between the biological and the manufactured. Rather than opposing these worlds, the work suggests that the human body itself can be understood as a constellation of materials.
