IMPOSSIBLE TOUCH

Two plaster casts of my left index finger take up the gesture of the almost-touching hands in Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam and turn it towards the self.

I can touch almost everything with my left hand, except my own left index finger. The casts create a possibility for this impossible touch, bringing together the body and its image, contact and absence.
