Touching a Mountain is a video collage that brings together personal recordings, found footage, field recordings, and collected imagery. Images of planets, landscapes, animals, architecture, and scientific or educational material overlap and enter into dialogue, creating connections across different scales and contexts.
The work emerged during a residency in Athens in collaboration with Rik Möhlmann, bringing together personal recordings, research, found imagery, and material from the Athens Observatory. Through montage and layering, the video moves between scientific observation, mythology, and everyday perception, exploring how images shape our understanding of space, time, and the world around us.
Rather than presenting a fixed narrative, the work unfolds through associations and visual relationships. Similarities between distant places and different forms of knowledge create a space where observation and imagination continuously influence one another.
