"Cosmic phenomena have always served as inspiration for mythologies and stories. Exploring them and imagining the ‘self’ in the ‘big picture’ inspires our creative urge, and helps us make sense of ourselves and our lives in the universal context. The interpretations and visualizations of the cosmos’ create spaces, give us an awareness, and a broad idea of experiencing space and time. Placing the human being as a thinking being with a mind and a body - with a ‘self’ - in the context of the idea of an expanding universe is a recurring theme in my artistic work."
(Katherina Heil 2024)
